In january of 09 the people responsible were unfortunately arrested.
its hard to tell from this picture but its 3 stories high and half a mile
wide. its been estimated that 400 gallons of white paint and 100 of black
to do it. The Army Corps of Engineers estimates that removing the MTA tag
from the river alone will cost $3.7 million because hazardous materials
crews must create an elaborate dam to capture all the paint and runoff water
so it doesn’t get into the riverbed.
